OK – so it’s not been a great time for the public plan but we’re not giving up the fight!

Thanks to everyone who took the time to make calls or send letters to your elected officials when Senators Schumer and Rockefeller fought for their amendments to include a public option in the Senate Finance Committee’s health care reform bill.

You know that the health care reform debate must continue to include a public plan option and we know that you feel that your voice isn’t being heard (http://www.kaiserhealthnews.org/Daily-Reports/2009/September/30/Public-opinion.aspx). Our Medicareworks site was created to support efforts to speak out to elected officials to make sure we don't lose real change that improves access for everyone, supports comprehensive care and fosters healthy communities – as cost effectively as possible.

You can always use our advocacy form to write a letter to your elected officials and we will keep you up to date on the latest ways to get involved. If you’re not part of our community, join today

Doctor Approved - Public Plan Option

Real change will improve access for everyone, support comprehensive care and foster healthy communities. Real change in health care reform must include a public plan.

And Doctors agree! 63% of physicians support a health reform proposal that includes a public option.

Show your support for real health care reform by signing the petition for a public plan option.

Medicare works because its core values are fair access, care and community. A public health insurance option similar to Medicare in any proposed reform would save almost two TRILLION dollars more than any reform that does not include a public option.

With a public plan option everyone will be better able to access coverage, better able to understand their coverage, and better able to use the coverage they have - at a price taxpayers can afford.

Sign the petition for a public plan option and show your support for real health care reform.
